Dr Roy van den Brink-Budgen has worked in the field of Critical Thinking for thirty years, eighteen of which he worked on the development of assessment materials not only in Critical Thinking but also other thinking skills. He was employed by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate for part of the time, developing the academic subject of “Critical Thinking and Communication” as part of a board of Thinking Skills assessment programme. Dr Roy has also been employed as the Chief Examiner for the British GCE ‘A’-Level subject in “Critical Thinking” between its inception and administration from 1999 to 2005.
With an extensive experience in training teachers in UK and Singapore, Dr Roy has also taught the subject to thousands of students in various countries over the past fifteen years. Having taught at all levels of education, the profile of students he has taught range from primary, secondary, college and universities to prison education.
As an author of many articles and books on Critical Thinking, Dr Roy has also produced other innovative resources and is renowned for effectively linking creative and critical thinking. Dr Roy’s educational resources are not limited to Critical Thinking, with his books and learning materials used in many countries around the world.
